Sonic Prime Season 2 Premieres July 13

Eight new episodes likely on the way.

SEGA and Man of Action Entertainment announced Sonic Prime Season 2 premieres on July 13 for Netflix. The second season comes almost seven months after the first season arrives on Netflix with eight episodes.

Sonic Prime Season 2 will likely bring another eight episodes on July 13 for a total of 16 episodes for the current run. A total of 24 episodes are planned for Sonic Prime, which means a third season is likely coming in late 2023 or early 2024 with the final eight episodes. SEGA shared its first screenshot from the upcoming second season featuring the icon himself, Sonic the Hedgehog. Pirate variants of Big, Froggy, Tails, Rouge, and Amy may be seen in the screenshot alongside Sonic and Knuckles. Further details and an official trailer were not revealed, however.

SEGA’s recent financials report notes TV and movie adaptations of Sonic the Hedgehog were highly successful in driving sales of its titles. One of the company’s most successful titles in recent memory is Sonic Frontiers, which surpassed 3.5 million copies sold. Fans may look forward to more Sonic content including new Sonic Frontiers updates and the new Knuckles TV series.
