PlayStation Showcase Reportedly Set for Late May

A massive show seemingly looms on the horizon.

After what has felt like years of rumors, multiple prominent voices are stating that Sony is set to air a new PlayStation Showcase within the next couple of weeks. This has been rumored for quite some time now, and it is especially needed with the lack of information for upcoming PlayStation first-party titles.

Jeff Grubb took to Twitter today to outline a clear timeline of when we can expect to see this presentation. He stated that the week of May 25 is most likely, as that timing is “right as of now”. Additional members of the video games industry have corroborated this report, with Andy Robinson of VGC stating that a showcase should land either at the end of this month or early June.

PlayStation 5 is set to have a bombastic year already, with both Final Fantasy XVI and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 headed to the system within the next few months. Rumors of a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake have been swirling, in addition to some other titles like a remake of Persona 3. A new PlayStation Showcase would surely reveal plenty of exciting titles fans around the world can look forward to.

The last major PlayStation Showcase occurred in 2021. This presentation revealed countless titles, such as Marvel’s Wolverine and a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. A new iteration of the program would most likely bring new titles of this caliber, as well as looks at already announced titles.
