    Dragon Quest X Offline Expansion ‘The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally’ Launches May 26 in Japan

    Featuring Anlucia and a new episode.

    Square Enix and B.B. Studio announced Dragon Quest X Offline expansion “The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally” launches on May 26 in Japan. This expansion is on equal scale to the main game while featuring new content not depicted in Dragon Quest X Online.

    The Dragon Quest X Offline “The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally” expansion brings players the land of Rendashia for a new adventure. Players will head to the new land on luxury cruise ship and ride through the sky on a flying dragon. Anlucia joins as a brand-new party member with the release of the expansion. Additionally, the expansion includes an original episode that was not present in Dragon Quest X Online. This new episode will focus on Anlucia, Anlucia’s older brother Toma, Luchenda, and Milt.

    Upcoming Dragon Quest Releases

    Although Dragon Quest X Offline will most likely not receive a release in the west, more Dragon Quest games are on the way soon. Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai is brings the Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai anime to consoles as a new action RPG. The new game launches in fall 2023 worldwide, so players in the west won’t miss out. 

    Dragon Quest fans can expect more releases in the near future. Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake and Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate are currently in development. Most recently, Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate received an updated logo, but further details were not revealed. This past December, Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii stated that more news about Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is coming soon. Additionally, Horii reiterated that the development team is working hard on Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate.

    “We’re working hard on Dragon Quest XII and Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake!” Horii said in December 2022. “I can’t say much yet, but we might be able to deliver more news on DQ III soon. We’re grateful that people are putting big expectations on DQ III too.”

    Lastly, Dragon Quest X Offline is available now in Japan for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
