    Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Version 3.0.1 Update Available Now for Switch, Includes New Story Content

    Increased level cap, new story quests, and much more.

    Bandai Namco announced the Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris version 3.0.1 update is available now for Nintendo Switch. The latest update includes new story content, an increased level cap, a new skill tree, and much more. Moreover, the update applies several fixes and adjustments to improve the overall experience in Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris.

    The Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris version 3.0.1 update adds four new Ancient Apostles stories for free according to Bandai Namco. These stories may be accessed by completing Ancient Apostles part four from the prior major update. Further, the level cap for playable characters has been increased to 199.

    New Additional Contents
    • Added free additional story update part #5 “Ancient Apostles: the Bound Angel”, #6 “Ancient Apostles: The Dark Piscine”, #7 “Ancient Apostles: The Corpse of Demise”, and #8 “Ancient Apostles: The Clown of Confusion”
      • Each Ancient Apostles would be accessible by completing the previous Ancient Apostles story.
      • If the Ancient Apostles contents does not start, please try below.
      • If Cardinal is set as one of the party members, please remove her from the party.
      • If the player is in a village or a town, such as Rulid village, please exit from the dungeon, a village, or a town.
        • Note that once an Ancient Apostles quest is activated, players would not be able to play “Blooming of Forget-me-not”, “Memory Arena”, “Arcane Arsenal”, multiplayer mode, and retrying the fight with Administrator.
    • Increased the level cap of the playable characters from 120 to 199.
      • The level cap will be upgradable after updating the game to Ver. 3.0.1.
    • Increased the level cap of the SYSTEM CONTROL AUTHORITY level from 120 to 199.
      • The level cap will be upgradable after updating the game to Ver. 3.0.1.
    • Increased the level of weapons from 50 to 99.
      • In order to level up, the player must complete Mutated Beast Quest to obtain the required resources.
      • For equipment with low basic parameters, there are occasions where the parameters will not change when strengthening after +50.
    • Increased the level cap of enemies from 780 to 999.
    • Five new Series Equipment has been added
      • Series equipment activates a passive skill that greatly increases your status by equipping three different types of equipment of the same series.
    • Added new weapon: “Shield & Axe”
      • Added new skill tree for Shield & Axe
        • This weapon combines the tank-like role of gathering enemy attention and preventing attacks with the attacker’s role of overwhelming the enemy with firepower.
        • Can be obtained from stores, crafting, and treasure chests when completing raid dungeons.
        • Currently the weapon can only be equipped by Kirito and Rogu, who will join Kirito’s party in the Blooming of Matricaria update.
    • Added new Equipment
    • Added playable character: Eydis
      • Eydis will be added to the Friend List after the main scenario is completed.
    • Added “Ultimate Kirito” to the Memory Arena.
    • Added three new SP weapons that can be exchanged at the Memory Exchange.
      • You can exchange it for an eligible weapon of the same name, enhanced to +99.
        • SP Weapons that has been added to the Memory Exchange cannot be strengthened.
        • Exchangeable weapons will be unique weapons where enhancement values cannot be transferred to other weapons.
    •  Added more options for using “Exchange Tickets”.
      • “Exchange Tickets” in the SAO SHOP can be exchanged for “CUBE Tickets” or “Incarnation Shard Tickets”.
      • CUBE Tickets can be exchanged in the SAO Shop.
      • You can now trade in Incarnation Shard Tickets for Incarnation Shards by speaking to the Enigma Broker at North Centoria.
    • Added new Attachments.
    • Elimination of “Recommended Level” and change of notation to “Enemy Lv.”
    • Changed the benefits when controlling party members other than Kirito.
      • When using other the other squads led by characters such as Asuna or Bercouli, buff effects such as increased EXP have been added.
      • When controlling Bercouli’s party, treasure chests have been improved to contain more valuable items.
    • Added Incarnation Shards exchange system
      • Incarnation Shards can now be exchanged with a different sized shard of the same color peaking to the Enigma Broker at North Centoria.
    • Added new items in “Memory Exchange”
      • New accessory: Recollection Jewel
      • 100 Incarnation Shards L
        • Players can exchange above items for “Memory Badge” which can be obtained by defeating “Ultimate Kirito” in the Memory Arena.
        • The newly added accessory is an exclusive equipment for Kirito.
    Battle
    • Raid Quest Reborn series: Changed the max level from 500 to 999.
      • Special rewards will be awarded for the first defeat of a level 999 boss.
    • Partial adjustment of quest rewards for the “Reborn” series up to level 500.
    System
    • Added the ability to preferentially update Play Avatars.
      • The ability to “reserve update” for Play Avatars that have already been added to your friends list and are locked.
        • Only one avatar can be reserved at a time, and the reservation will be cancelled when the avatar is updated.
    • Increased the number of Incarnation Shards that can be obtained from quest rewards and treasure chest drops in the Mutated Beast Quests.
    Other
    • Fixed other minor bugs and issues.
