Yu-Gi-Oh Cross Duel Shuts Down on September 4

Shutting down just one year after the global launch.

Konami announced mobile card game Yu-Gi-Oh Cross Duel will shut down on September 4, which is just one year after its global launch for Android and iOS. Service for Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, the more successful counterpart of Yu-Gi-Oh Cross Duel, will continue as planned.

In a new notice sent out to players, Konami confirmed Yu-Gi-Oh Cross Duel will be shutting down permanently on September 4 at 05:00 (UTC). Konami did not state a reason for the game’s shut down, but the company is thankful for the great support of its players. All sales of in-game currency (Crystals) have been disabled as of March 28, 2023. Although the game is ending service, fans may look forward to a few more events before the game completely ceases operations.

    New Events

The new Yu-Gi-Oh SEVENS single player event goes live on April 4 alongside the addition of new cards. On April 13, a new raid event will be available in Yu-Gi-Oh Cross Duel with even more cards to obtain. Additionally, Konami will increase the amount of rewards such as gifts and login bonuses. More details will be revealed soon within the mobile game and official website, so Konami encourages players to stay tuned.

    Refund Applications

Players in Japan, Korea and Taiwan may apply for refunds for any remaining unused currency after service ends. Refund applications will be accepted starting September 5, 2023 at 05:00 (UTC) according to Konami. The company encourages players to update the game to the latest version and keep their applications until the refund is complete. Further, players must make sure to note your Duelist ID and Crystal balance before service ends. Konami’s customer service center will be available to assist players if the need arises.
