Nihon Falcom revealed new details about Ys X: Nordics in the March 23 issue of Famitsu, which is available today in Japan. The Ys X: Nordics heroine is named Carja, and more details about the game’s mechanics were revealed.
Carja – The Heroine of Ys X: Nordics
Carja is known as the Pirate Princess in Ys X: Nordics and the only daughter of the leader of the Varta Army, an armed fleet of Normans. She wields an axe and shield in combat, and she’s feared for her skill in battle. A situation brings Adol and Carja together in the prologue of Ys X: Nordics.
Action Events and Combat
Ys X: Nordics players may trigger “Action Events” by meeting certain conditions. When an Action Event is activated, the camera and surroundings change dynamically according to the player’s actions. This new feature aims to bring an immersive experience to combat in Ys X: Nordics.
Adol may learn special moves by opening treasure chests or triggering certain events throughout the game. While playing in Solo mode, the uncontrolled character will following the controlled character’s movements. The uncontrolled character will also attack, activate skills, and evade at their own discretion in combat (Thanks, @Hansuke21).
Upcoming Falcom Releases
Falcom is currently preparing to release Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana on April 27 for Nintendo Switch in Japan. The new “refine” title features extensive voice acting for Adol by Yuki Kaji, brand-new artwork, high-speed mode, and much more. Traditional Chinese and Korean versions release on May 25, which is one month after the Japanese release.
NIS America, PH3 and The Geofront bring the Crossbell duology to a close when The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure launches March 14 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. The enhanced release includes high-speed mode, water rendering, and universal in-game settings across all versions.
This summer, heroes from Crossbell, Erebonia, and Liberl will unite once more after the events of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV. The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie launches July 7 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
Lastly, Ys X: Nordics releases in 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in Japan.
