Sega Sammy published its financial results for the third quarter of fiscal year ending in March 2023, revealing sales data for the Persona series. Persona 5 Royal was a notable performer among SEGA and ATLUS releases in the fiscal year.
Strong Sales for Persona 5 Royal
Sega Sammy’s financial results reveal the Persona series sold 1.54 million copies within the third quarter, which accounts for sales from October to December 2022. The multiplatform release of the Persona 5 Royal remaster sold over 1.3 million copies sold by the end of December 2022. The remaining 200,000 copies sold came from repeat sales of previous titles such as Persona 5 Strikers and Persona 4 Golden (original Steam version).

The Persona 5 Royal remaster sold over 1 million units within the first month according to SEGA. Persona 5 Royal released on October 21, 2022 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Xbox Game Pass subscribers receive the game at no additional cost.
Sales of the Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden remasters did not factor into third quarter sales since both titles released in the fourth quarter. Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden released on January 19 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
