SEGA revealed new details about Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis updates coming in February 2023 and a collaboration featuring NIJISANJI VTubers.
Dark Falz Aegis Descends in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis
Players will finally battle against the final form of Dark Falz Aegis in the February 1 update. The fateful battle will take place in Urgent Quest: The Battle of Halphia Lake. Those who come out triumphant in the battle against the Dark Falz will earn new 8-star Neos Astraean series weapons. Further, the ARKS Records will be held for three Field Race courses from February 1 to 8.
NIJISANJI Collaboration
The February 1 update for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis introduces a new collaboration with NIJISANJI and NIJISANJI EN. Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis players may dress up as NIJISANJI VTubers Kaida Haru, Hakase Fuyuki, Hoshikawa Sara, and Shu Yamino by drawing from the “Virtual Liver Style” AC Scratch Ticket. Virtual Liver Style cosmetics include outfits, hairstyles, weapon camos, accessories, and much more.
Life-size cutouts of NIJISANJI and NIJISANJI EN VTubers will be placed around Central City. Additionally, Region Mags will be decorated with NIJISANJI designs. Players who login on February 1 and beyond will gain special NIJISANJI stickers for participating in the game’s latest update.
February 2023’s Second Update
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis receives its second update of the month on February 8. The new update introduces the 24-player Limited-time Quest “Drill: Plateau Clean-Up Op!” and powerful Megalotix enemies. Players may obtain new 8-star Neos Justitean series weapons starting February 8 as well.
Multiple new Scratch Tickets will be introduced in the February 8 update. Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis celebrates Valentine’s Day with the “Sweet Wonderland” AC Scratch Ticket featuring new outfits, emotes, and gliders. The AC Support Item 6 Scratch Ticket will be available with useful augments and items.
The Final Updates of February 2023
The 24-player Limited-time Quest “Drill: Old Capital Clean-Up Op!” will be available in the February 15 update. In addition, a Trigger Quest version of Urgent Quest: The Battle of Halphia Lake will be available to challenge. The new SG Scratch Ticket: Volcanic Heart allows players to dress up in gear from the latest expansion. Moreover, players have access to Mission Pass 17 with tons of free rewards to earn.
On February 22, the Giant Mutants limited-time event brings new Dread enemies to conquer across the planet’s regions. Defeating these giant mutants yields new rewards including cosmetics. Lastly, February’s last update brings the Modish Winter AC Scratch Ticket, which includes cozy winter wear before spring comes.
Creative Space Sneak Peek
SEGA shared a sneak peek into the upcoming Creative Space mode to close out the January 31 edition of NGS Headline. Players may build homes to call their own in Creative Space, and tons of furniture will be available for added customization. Most of the items may be rotated, shrunk, expanded, and freely positioned within the Creative Space mode.
