SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio released a new trailer for Like a Dragon: Ishin titled “Blade of Vengeance,” which introduces the main story featuring Sakamoto Ryoma.
Ryoma is framed for the murder of his mentor and joins the Shinsengumi. The samurai will fight to reveal the truth of his mentor’s murder while facing many of the problems that Japan faced in this tumultuous period. Along the way, Ryoma will make new friends and enemies that should be familiar to longtime Yakuza / Like a Dragon fans.
“The Blade of Vengeance trailer explores the game’s story, sharing a glimpse at the treacherous road ahead for protagonist Sakamoto Ryoma, after being framed for the murder of his mentor,” SEGA’s recent press release reads. “With a journey full of friends and foes, high-action combat and more, this solemn samurai’s fight for justice challenges the course of Japan’s history.”

Like a Dragon: Ishin Blade of Vengeance Trailer
Eager players who pre-order Like a Dragon: Ishin digitally receive three bonus weapons: Kijinmaru Kunishige, Black Ship Cannon, and Tsuyano Usukurenai. Additionally, players who pre-order a digital copy receive 4-days of early access starting February 17.
Physical pre-orders are available now at participating retailers in the U.S. Further, the Like a Dragon SteelBook Edition is currently available to pre-order now at Best Buy and GameStop locations.
Yakuza / Like a Dragon fans can expect even more new games to come this year and beyond. Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name releases in 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Like a Dragon 8, the next numbered entry featuring Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga, releases in 2024.
Lastly, Like a Dragon: Ishin releases on February 21 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
