The Game Awards Steam Deck Giveaway Details
The Game Awards on December 8 will give away a 512 GB Steam Deck every minute throughout the show.
It’s unclear how long the show will last, but if it’s around two and a half hours, that’s around 150 chances to win a Steam Deck system!
Keighley revealed that this year’s show will be “significantly shorter” than past shows, though the host didn’t confirm an expected runtime. He also confirmed that The Game Awards Steam sale will be available around the show’s debut.
How to Register and Get a Chance to Win a Steam Deck
So, how to win a Steam Deck, you ask? First, you need to register with a Steam account or an existing Steam account in good standing. That means your Steam Account must not have any VAC bans or outstanding reports. The Game Awards also notes that you need to have made a Steam purchase between November 14, 2021, and November 14, 2022, to verify your country.
Second, you must be residing in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, or the European Union.
Third, to register for the giveaway, you must visit the official site. Here, you’ll have the option to register for the giveaway event, so long as you have a valid Steam account in good standing. Once you’ve done so, you’ll see a “You’re Registered” notice on the page.
Fourth, you need to tune in to The Game Awards 2022 live stream ceremony via Steam, as they will draw a random name in the chat every minute. Only Steam users who will be watching the show live on Steam will have a chance to have their names drawn from the random pool of registrants.
Can I Join the Giveaway if I Don’t Reside in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, or the European Union?
Unfortunately, you cannot as other countries not mentioned in the giveaway mechanics are not included in The Game Awards 2022 Steam Deck Giveaway. However, you will receive an exclusive animated sticker as a freebie should you register anyway.
