Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Sales Reach 4 Million

Reaching for the skies in every aspect

Today, Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. announced on their website that Ace Combat 7 sold 4 million copies worldwide. The company has stated that it is an “amazing” milestone and to celebrate, they provided players with desktop and mobile wallpapers on their webpage to freely download.

Project Aces, the internal development team of Bandai Namco, also offered their thanks to fans by starting a giveaway on Twitter. By following Project Aces’s twitter account and retweeting this tweet, you have a chance of receiving a signed script by Satsuki Yukino who is the voice actor of the Ace Combat character, Avril Mead. Only 4 people will be selected out of everyone who enters the giveaway.

The 4 million copies number is an increase from the last sales update we received from Bandai Namco in August of last year, in which Ace Combat 7 sold 3 million copies worldwide. Now the Ace Combat series has achieved a total of 18 million copies and has become the best-selling title in the series.

    The Future

It’s definitely an interesting time to be an Ace Combat fan as players also remember that Kazutoki Kono, the producer of the franchise, announced last year in the 25th anniversary stream that the next entry in the series is already in production. ILCA, a developer strongly known for their work on the Yakuza games and the upcoming One Piece Odyssey, will be helping with the development of the next installment of Ace Combat. With this information, fans eagerly wait for any future news.

The last update Ace Combat 7 received was the 3rd anniversary update which provided new skins and emblems. While there is no news on future add-on content for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, more content is likely being considered to be added for the future as sales continue to grow for the game.
