    Splatoon 3 Details Chill Season Weapons and Maps

    Another glimpse into the Chill Season's arsenal.

    Nintendo’s Splatoon Research Lab is back to details new weapons and coming soon to Splatoon 3 Chill Season including the new Splattershot Nova weapon and Flounder Heights map.

    The Splattershot Nova is a brand-new variant of the original Splattershot with a slightly different design. It trades power for overall balance and better aiming, so the weapon is suitable for newcomers and veterans alike. The Ballistics team at Splatoon Research Lab provides a brief look into the new weapon:

    As shown above, Brinewater Springs is one of the new maps coming to Splatoon 3 Chill Season in December. The new map is filled with hot springs and hills, so defending the high ground is key to victory.

    Splatoon 3 Chill Season introduces the Big Swig Roller, a new roller that utilizes “wide-rolling technology.” Although the weapon is large, it’s rather efficient at using ink. As a result, players will be able to cover wide areas with fewer swings than a standard roller.

    Flounder Heights returns from the original Splatoon game for Splatoon 3 Chill Season. The map has been redeveloped, but returning players should feel right at home. Learning to control areas from the rooftops is key to winning matches on Flounder Heights.

    The Snipewriter 5H is a brand-new charger that holds up to five shots. The new weapon shoots pencil-lead projectiles which splat into ink on contact. Splatoon 3 Chill Season’s new charger weapon is powerful in the hands of skilled players due to its high capacity mag as well.

    The Splatoon Research Lab reminds players that X Battles are coming to Splatoon 3 when the Chill Season launches. Players ranked S+0 or higher may take part in highly competitive matches by putting X Power on the line. X Battles are split into two divisions: Takoroka Division and Tentatek Division. The Takoroka Division covers Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand whereas the Americas and Europe play in the Tentatek Division.

    Splatoon 3 Chill Season features the all-new Marooner’s Bay stage for Salmon Run. The map features sandbars and a ship for sufficient elevated ground for when the high tide rolls in.

    Splatoon Research Lab Ballistics revealed the golden Aerospray MG set. The Aerospray MG is back with flashy golden flair, and the newly-equipped Sprinkler sub and Booyah Bombs help the new weapon perform admirably in turf wars.

    The upgraded Slosher Deco arrives in Chill Season with a tactical sticker. Equipped with the Angle Shooter sub and Zipcaster special, the Slosher Deco helps players reach the high ground for maximum turf coverage.

    The Inkbrush Nouveau makes its debut as an Inkbrush weapon with upgraded bristles, Ink Mines, and the Ultra Stamp. Alongside the Inkbrush Nouveau, the reimagined Dapple Dualies Nouveau will be introduced. Moreover, Dapple Dualies Nouveau features a Torpedo sub and Reefslider special for those wanting to constantly be in firefights.

    The Forge Splattershot Pro is a special collaboration weapon in partnership with the Forge brand in Splatoon 3. The weapon includes powerful Suction Bombs and Booyah Bombs for Splattershot veterans to take advantage of.

    As a reminder, players may customize their lockers with decorations and stickers in Splatoon 3. Chill Season will introduce new decorations and stickers for players to add to their collection. Further, certain T-Shirts may be folded up for display in the locker by pressing the L-Stick.

    Black Friday is here, and the Splatoon Research Lab introduced two brand-new weapons arriving in Chill Season. First, the Luna Blaster Neo is an alternative to the original Luna Blaster. The new Luna Blaster Nero features Fizzy Bombs and the Ultra Stamp.

    The Zink Mini Splatling will rattle enemies with rapid shots and the Toxic Mist, which slows down opponents. The Zink Mini Splatling’s Big Bubbler provides a defensive space for teammates in heavy fire.

    Another roller makes its arrival on December 1: the Carbon Roller Deco. The newly-designed roller features Burst Bombs and the long-range Trizooka. Players having difficulty splatting opponents with standard rollers should try out the Carbon Roller Deco.

    The new Custom Splattershot Jr comes with the Torpedo sub and Wave Breaker special. Custom Splattershot Jr should be a great weapon for beginners and Splatoon veterans alike.

    Splatoon 3 players can expect new cards for Tableturf Battle and music info display during matches in Chill Season. Artist and song title will be displayed so players may remember tracks that stand out to them.

    The final Splatoon Research Lab update introduces one more new weapon before Splatoon 3 Chill Season arrives. Before then, a few more details about Salmon Run were shared.

    The Grizzco Terminal now lets players save set combos for stages, Salmonid enemies, special conditions, and more as “job scenarios.” Players may replay job scenarios as Private Jobs, and each job scenario is given a unique code. These codes may be shared and downloaded by others at the Grizzco Terminal.

    The Tentatek Splattershot will be available starting with Chill Season on December 1. Tentatek Splatttershot is equipped with Splat Bombs and the Triple Inkstrike special for an all-rounder loadout.

    To close out news leading into the launch of Chill Season, Nintendo detailed the game’s Photo Mode. Players may enter Photo Mode in Private Battles and recon mode. Since the version 2.0.0 update is available now, players may try out Photo Mode right now.

    Lastly, Splatoon 3 is available now for Nintendo Switch, and Chill Season begins on December 1.
