    Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis details November and December 2022 updates

    Sonic and Overlord collaborations revealed.

    SEGA revealed multiple new updates for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis coming in November and December 2022. These updates pave the way for major changes in Spring 2023, including Player Housing.

    November 2 Update

    The Autumn ’22 series of updates for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis begins on November 2 with fall foilage across Aelio and Yaolo Rappies. Xiemi will be a seasonal vendor at Central City during this update. Like prior seasons, players may earn seasonal points and exchange them for weapons, augments, and much more. Further, the November 2 update introduces the new limited-time quest Practice Drill: Crisp Autumn Aelio Defense.

    Sonic Frontiers Collaboration

    Starting November 9, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will be celebrating the launch of Sonic Frontiers with collaboration items and special Scratch Tickets as well as a giveaway. The giveaway keyword will be announced on the official Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis Twitter so be sure to follow for a chance to win accessories based on popular characters from the Sonic series, such as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Players must say the keyword in the Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis in-game chat for a chance to win.

    November 16 Update

    The second half of the Autumn ’22 update begins on November 16 with new Field Races, limited-time tasks, and more new items. Another new limited-time quest, Practice Drill: Autumn Night Aelio Defense, makes its debut. Additionally, the game begins its second major collaboration during November with an Overlord AC Scratch Ticket. Players may obtain Overlord-themed cosmetics such as Ainz and Albedo avatar skins, weapon camos, emotes, voice tickets, and much more.

    The Hellfire Vanguard

    SEGA provided another glimpse into the major December update for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. The year-end update is titled “The Hellfire Vanguard” and introduces the new region, Stia. Stia is an extremely volcanic area with flowing lava and clouds of ember. Players will embark on the fourth story chapter and meet new characters such as Glen and Kanui. New skills will be introduced for each class, and 8-star rarity weapons will make their debut.

    Player Housing

    A large-scale update arrives in Spring 2023 with player housing. The “Creative Space” player housing system is currently in development, so players have to wait a little while longer before more details surface. However, SEGA shared a sneak peek to keep fans excited for next spring.
