SEGA unveiled its plans for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis during the month of October 2022 including multiple major updates.
October 5 Update
The October 5 update for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis brings max class level up to 65 and new high rank sectors will be available in Retem. Since the max class level will be 65, SEGA has rebalanced all classes for the new update. Combat sectors will be adjusted to maintain PSE level 2 once reached. In addition, PSE Burst can transform to PSE Burst ƒ (forte) with golden rare enemies and enhanced rare drops. Enhanced enemies will drop better rewards as well.
1-star through 6-star weapons may be upgraded to enhance cap. level 60 when the October 5 update launches. Furthermore, weapon potentials will be unlocked up to level 5, and the update introduces the new 7-star Obsidia weapons. Players can also expect new mini episodes, features, adjustments, and enhancements with the October 5 updates.
The Melty Blood: Type Lumina collaboration is a major highlight for the October 5 update. Players may receive special accessories, costumes, and hairstyles of Shiki Tohno, Akiha Tohno, Arcueid, and Ciel in the Melty Blood: Type Lumina AC Scratch Ticket.
October 12 Update
Updates continue with new high rank sectors coming to the Kvaris region of Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis on October 12. NGS Season 13 kicks off with a new Mission Pass filled with worthwhile rewards. Refined Form 7 and much more will be added to the SG Scratch Ticket starting with the October 12. Although the update is rather small, more new updates arrives in the coming weeks.
October 19 and Beyond
The Aelio region of Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis receives new high rank sectors on October 19. Aelio urgent quests receive new ranks in the October 19 update as well. Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis celebrates the Halloween season with the new Monster Masquerade ’22 AC Scratch Ticket.
The new Ordinal Tower quest goes live in the October 26 update. Players must complete Chapter 1 of the main story to access the “Ordinal Tower Training” quest from ARKS Instructor Schlacht. Ordinal Towers feature multiple unlockable ranks with tons of rewards to obtain.
In December 2022, the new Stia region will be added to Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis in a major update. Players will embark on the next chapter of the main story and encounter new threats throughout the Stia region. More information will be shared closer to launch month.
