During EVO 2022, Bandai Namco revealed new update for Tekken 7 releases on August 17, and a potential new Tekken game was teased.
The new Tekken 7 update provides balance adjustments and “new tactics” according to the Tekken World Tour trailer shown at EVO 2022. Additionally, the Tekken World Tour global finals will be held on February 4-5, 2023, in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
At the end of the new Tekken 7 trailer, a segment from the end of Tekken 1 was played featuring Kazuya Mishima. The footage then fades to an updated rendition of Kazuya with the iconic slogan “get ready,” causing speculation over a potential new Tekken title. The official Tekken Twitter account encourages fans to “watch until the end” to see the teaser.

Following the announcement of the Tekken 7 update, Tekken series producer Katsuhiko Harada was shown celebrating with EVO 2022 commentators Markman and Rip. Additionally, the official The Game Awards Twitter account and showrunner Geoff Keighley retweeted the Tekken World Tour 2023 trailer. Tekken 8 is not confirmed, but speculation surrounding the teaser points toward a possible new Tekken game coming in the future.
Lastly, Tekken 7 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
