    Capcom publishes Q1 FY2022 financial results, Mega Man series surpasses 38 million copies sold

    Mega Man, Monster Hunter, and Resident Evil sales listed.

    Capcom released its Q1 FY2022 financial results ending on June 30, 2022, with updated sales figures for major game franchises such as Mega Man and Monster Hunter.

    Capcom financial results for Q1 FY2022 consists of sales over the course of three months from April 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022. Net sales were 25,232 million yen (down 47.9% year-over-year), operating income was 12,061 million yen (down 48.9% year-over-year), ordinary income was 12,803 million yen (down 46.4% year-over-year), and net income attributable to owners of the parent was 9,007 million yen (down 48.1% year-over-year), according to Capcom.

    Although sales and income were down across multiple facets of Capcom, the company is expected to achieve its projected full-year earnings. Additionally, key Capcom series such as Monster Hunter and Resident Evil continue to sell really well. For instance, the Mega Man series sold 1 million copies between July 1, 2021 (37 million) and June 30, 2022 (38 million).

    The next major Capcom release, Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, releases on October 28. Lastly, Resident Evil 4 remake is currently in development and releases on March 24, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
