PlatinumGames released a teaser video for an upcoming Famitsu interview, and the company confirmed Takao Yamane joins PlatinumGames as the new executive vice president.
Takao Yamane is a former Nintendo general manager of licensing, Nintendo of Europe manager director of sales and strategy, and VP of Nintendo of France. As the new VP and chief business officer of PlatinumGames, Yamane is key to developing a new company structure and fulfilling company ambitions.
Atsushi Inaba is the president and CEO of PlatinumGames, and he’s joined by vice presidents Hideki Kamiya and Takao Yamane. On January 13 this year, Inaba succeeded Kenichi Sato as president of the company. Sato stepped down after nearly five years and eight months in the role.
“PlatinumGames will be changing significantly,” the company said. “A big industry fixer [Takao Yamane] has joined PlatinumGames. What will become of us? PlatinumGames Reborn! Details in this week’s Famitsu.”

The August 4 issue of Famitsu releases on July 21 with a 42-page special feature about LIVE A LIVE. The new issue includes the PlatinumGames interview, and Famitsu will release an exclusive feature on July 20.
The next major title by PlatinumGames, Bayonetta 3, releases on October 28 for Nintendo Switch. Lastly, the original Bayonetta title receives a physical release for Switch on September 30.
