Nothing says welcome back to Inkwell Isles like getting roped into the hilarious misadventures of Cuphead (Tru Valentino) and his twin brother, Mugman (Frank Todaro). The Cuphead Show! Season 2 first look is here, and the dynamic dishware duo have even more mischief up their straws. Whether it’s being strapped onto dynamite or breaking out of jail, the upcoming season of the animated series is overflowing with trouble. Of course, there would be no adventure without their fashionable and charming friend Ms. Chalice (Grey Griffin) as well as The Devil (Luke Millington-Drake), the conniving villain who’s always ready to scheme the brothers into gambling away their eternal souls.

Based on the video game Cuphead, The Cuphead Show! is an homage to the golden days of American animation, resembling the slapstick and retro cartoons of Fleischer Studios and classic Walt Disney animation. “I think there’s kind of a familiarity to everyone when they watch this style of animation that takes them back to a time when they were younger,” Valentino told Tudum in March. “Maybe it brings out the childlike wonderment in everybody again.”
