PS5 surpasses 1.5 million units sold in Japan

Famitsu shared retail sales in Japan for the week of March 28th – April 3rd with PS5 reaching a new sales milestone. The PS5 surpassed 1.5 million units sold in the region (roughly 1,528,183). The next-gen console continues to face stock issues in Japan and around the world, leading to slower overall sales compared to the PS4 lifecycle. Switch continues to dominate game and hardware sales in the country as Kirby and the Forgotten Land takes the best selling game of the week slot once again.
