Atlus releases Q&A for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

Atlus released a new Q&A for the upcoming release of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax for PS4, Switch and PC via Steam. Check out the full Q&A below, translated by Persona Central:

    General

Q: What is different compared to the original version?

A: The graphics resolution has been increased, and the UI has been adjusted to make the screen more visible. The battle system has been updated to conform to the latest arcade version.

Q: Are there any additional story elements or characters in the remastered version?

    A: No, there are not.

Q: Can we play the story of P4U (Persona 4 Arena)?

A: Yes, you can. Select “P4U: Story Mode” from the “Story Mode” menu.

Q: I am not good at fighting games, but can I just enjoy the story?

A: Yes, you can. If you set the battle mode to “Auto Mode,” character actions during the battle segments in the story mode will be automated. You can choose from 5 levels of battle difficulty, including “Easy,” “Norma,” and “Hard,” so if you have trouble with the game, you can lower the difficulty level.

Q: Are there any differences between the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam versions?

A: The “Lobby” function in “Network Mode” is only available in the PlayStation 4 version. Therefore, the bundled DLC “Lobby Avatar Set” is only included in the PlayStation 4 version. Additionally, some other “Network Mode” functions are different.

Q: Is there a downloadable version?

A: Yes, both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions are available. However, we do not accept pre-orders for the PlayStation 4 version before the release date. Please purchase it after the release date.

    DLC

Q: Will all the DLC released at the time be included?

A: The P4U2 avatar set is not included because it was a PlayStation 3 exclusive feature. Also, some songs such as “Anime BGM” and “Theater Version BGM,” along with “All Title Releases” are not included. For details, please see the list of included DLC.

Q: Is the previous DLC “Episode Adachi” included in the package?

A: Yes, it is included. It becomes available when you complete “Episode P4” in the story mode.

Q: Please tell me all the DLC that is included in the package.

A: Please see the list of included DLC here.

    System

Q: What is the battle system’s version?

A: It is equivalent to Ver. 2.02 of the arcade version.

    Network

Q: Can I play online matches for free?

A: The PlayStation 4 version is free to play except for online matches and training, which requires a subscription to PlayStation Plus. The Switch version requires a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online for all of “Network Mode.”

Q: Do online battles support the rollback system?

A: This will be supported in a post-launch update. The timing is scheduled for summer of 2022. This update will be compatible with the PlayStation 4 and Steam versions.

    Q: Can I play cross-platform?

A: No, that is not possible.
