Chrono Trigger released 27 years ago in Japan

The legendary JRPG Chrono Trigger celebrates its 27th anniversary today, March 11th (JST)! The game releases on March 11th, 1995 for the Super Famicom/SNES in Japan and quickly become one of the critically and fan acclaimed JRPGs of all time. The RPG was developed by the “Dream Team” which included:

  • Hironobu Sakaguchi
  • Yuji Horii
  • Masato Kato
  • Kazuhiro Aoki
  • Tetsuya Takahashi
  • Akira Toriyama
  • Nobuo Uematsu
  • Yasunori Mitsuda

To this day, many fans clamor for a re-release and remake of Chrono Trigger on modern consoles such as Switch and PS4. To coincide with the anniversary, Square Enix released a new update for the mobile and Steam versions of the game with new features. Fans can also look forward to Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition on April 7th.
