Square Enix shared a message from Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida! According to Yoshida, news about Final Fantasy XVI is coming in spring 2022. Development was impacted by the current coronavirus pandemic which means the planned information reveal for late 2021 was called off. In addition, development of the game was delayed by half a year.
