PlatinumGames was too inexperienced to deliver Scalebound according to Hideki Kamiya

In a new interview at Cutscenes, Hideki Kamiya from PlatinumGames talked about Scalebound and challenges presented. According to Kamiya, PlatinumGames was too inexperienced to deliver Scalebound and its ambitions. The developers lacked the necessary know-how to develop the game with Unreal Engine and its online features. As a result, PlatinumGames could not bring the game both Microsoft and fans wanted to light. The Xbox One game would be cancelled in early 2017. Kamiya apologizes to players who wanted the game and Microsoft for placing trust into the company. Hopefully, PlatinumGames and Kamiya bring forth even more fun games like Bayonetta 3 and a new ambitious title that they’re ready for.
