Fatal Frame director Makoto Shibata is considering remasters of the series going forward

In a recent interview at JPGames.de, series director Makoto Shibata shared some interesting tidbits about the Fatal Frame franchises. According to Shibata, reactions to Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water have “exceeded expectations” across social media. There are no current plans to release more Fatal Frame remasters but Shibata is considering it going forward. Hopefully, fans could see more Fatal Frame games come to current platforms soon.

“As this title was prepared for the 20th anniversary of the series, we currently don’t have any plans to develop any other remastered versions. However, the reactions we have received from everyone have exceeded our expectations, so I’d like to consider this moving forward.”
