    Yakuza series surpasses 17 million games & products sold worldwide

    SEGA Sammy recently published their integrated report with data ending on March 2021 and updated sales figures for the Yakuza series! The Yakuza series surpassed 17 million sales in products worldwide. These products include:

    • Physical and digital games such as Yakuza: Like a Dragon
    • Pachislot/pachinko machines
    • Figures, physical accessories, etc.

    These sales account for the period between March 2020 and March 2021 which was SEGA’s previous fiscal year. Additionally, these sales do not account for Lost Judgment sales which released in September 2021 worldwide. The future of the Yakuza franchise is looking promising as the company announced that a sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon is now in development! Series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi and Ryu Ga Gotoku studio head Daisuke Sato left SEGA recently and a team of veteran Yakuza developers now lead the charge.
