PlayStation 3 and Vita stores will remove the option to add funds via credit, debit, or PayPal on October 27th

After an earlier debacle this year that nearly saw the shutdown of the PlayStation 3 and Vita storefronts, Sony have begun emailing people a bit of a stinger announcement regarding payment methods on these platforms. It’s nothing that will seal the fate of these stores, but you will no longer be able to use your credit card, debit card, or PayPal to add funds directly to these stores. This means that only prepaid PlayStation Store cards or funds added via the PlayStation Store website, PS4, or PS5 will work. (Thanks to Wario64 for catching this.)

While this is a bit of an unfortunate sting, this doesn’t quite spell the end for these stores and hopefully they will remain open for as long as reasonably possible. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for more gaming news and updates!
