Naoki Yoshida reassures fans that he’s working hands-on with development of future Final Fantasy XIV content and Final Fantasy XVI

In a new interview at Famitsu, Square Enix producer and director Naoki Yoshida talked about his current status with both Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XVI. Many fans across social media have been worrying about if he’s dedicating too much time on one title over the other. In addition, fans wonder if he’s still deeply involved in Final Fantasy XVI now that voice acting is finishing up. Yoshida says that he’s still working hard on Final Fantasy XIV’s future content so fans should look forward to Endwalker and more. Here’s what he had to say:

“This is not the end of Final Fantasy XIV and I hope players look forward to future developments… Recently, I’ve seen comments on social media saying “Yoshi-P is too busy working on FFXVI and too hands-off with FFXIV.” This is absolutely not the case. I’m still working very hard on it so I hope you will stick with me.”

Yoshida also chimes in on possible mistakes that could arise during development such as bugs:

“Mistakes can and will happen during development. Sometimes I see posts saying “This bug happened because Yoshi-P hasn’t seen it!” Even I make mistakes.. I’m sorry! But we’ll continue doing our best”

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker releases on November 23rd for PS4, PS5 and PC. Lastly, Final Fantasy XVI is coming to PS5 and PC in the near future. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news and updates!
