Sony Group chief financial officer Hiroki Totoki states that PS5 shortages are expected to continue into 2022. Shortages in components like semiconductors contribute to shortages of the PS5. In addition, Sony doesn’t know when supply could potentially normalize. This is what Totoki had to say according to Bloomberg:
“I don’t think demand is calming down this year and even if we secure a lot more devices and produce many more units of the PlayStation 5 next year, our supply wouldn’t be able to catch up with demand.”
With PS5 stock at a minimum, fans continue searching retailers and wait for restocks. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news and support us on Patreon!
