Nintendo now owns the Astral Chain IP according to PlatinumGames’ Atsushi Inaba

Previously, PlatinumGames and Nintendo co-owned Astral Chain as an IP. That has since changed as PlatinumGames’ Atsushi Inaba confirmed that the IP is now fully owned by Nintendo. Here’s what he had to say, courtesy of VGC:

“It’s as it is written on the website: Astral Chain is their IP and as such there are limitations on how much we feel we should talk about.”

VGC attempted to ask about ownership with a PlatinumGames spokesperson but said the company is “not in a position to answer this question”. Astral Chain was a well recieved game and sold over a million copies so lets hope Nintendo and Platinum get on a sequel soon.
