Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury features gyro controls in areas that originally had touch controls on Wii U

Nintendo previously confirmed that running speed is faster in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury along with the ability to climb higher than before. Another new feature for the Switch version is gyro controls! On the Wii U version of 3D World, certain parts of the game used touch controls. Since the touchpad is no more, players use gyro controls with the Joy-Cons this time around.

“All characters have received a boost to their running speed and climb even higher after picking up a Super Bell, making platforming that little bit snappier. You can now also use gyro controls for certain sections of the game that previously required touch controls.”

Bigger, better and faster seems to be the theme of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and we can definitely get behind it. Lastly, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury releases on February 12th for Switch. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news and updates!
