Bethesda teases Hammerfell as the main location of The Elder Scrolls VI

This past week, Bethesda tweeted a riddle to “transcribe the past and map the future.” It’s a riddle but it’s straightforward and accompanied by a map. The map details Skyrim and it’s holds. Skyrim is fully charted and explored which isn’t surprised since the game has been out for 10 years. However, a candle is lit on the uncharted territory of Hammerfell. This is a long speculated area for the next Elder Scrolls game and the map of the region is incomplete. It’s reminiscent of a map given in the beginning of a Elder Scrolls game, clouded and uncharted, waiting for the player to uncover.

The map also reads “4E 182” which means the year 182 in the 4th Era. This takes place in the same era as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. If this isn’t a big enough hint of what’s to come, we don’t know what is.
