Recently, retailers in Japan posted notices that PS4/PS4 Pro models in Japan are becoming scarce due to end of production. Sony has confirmed this as only the PS4 Slim 500 GB model in Japan is in active production. The newly freed up production lines will be used to ramp up production of the PS5. According to Sony’s plans, this will help speed up the transition from PS4 to PS5 while facing the extreme shortage of PS5s in the country.
