Destiny 2: Beyond Light launched with some good reception but the expansion perpetuated problems in the game. The loot pool does not have enough weapons to compel players and unfortunately, the season pass system doesn’t offer enough to fix that. However, Bungie has finally addressed the ongoing problem! The company admits that the reward pool was too small for Beyond Light and promises that upcoming expansions will have more unique weapons. This includes more weapons than both Beyond Light and Shadowkeep.
Each season in Year 4 will see a growth in the overall power ecosystem for weapons. This means that all weapons in-game that can meet the power cap will be earnable. In Season 13, Bungie will add 6 new ritual weapons into the game (two for each mode). Additionally, Destiny 1 weapons are returning for Nightfalls! This includes the fan-favorite Palindrome, The Swarm and Shadow Price. Grandmaster Nightfalls will include Adept versions of these weapons similar to Trials of Osiris.
For Bungie, it doesn’t stop at weapons. Armor is also getting it’s fair share of enhancements coming in 2021. Transmog is finally coming to the game and the company shares a development screenshot below:
Additionally, Bungie shares a taste of their roadmap for next year:
DDOS protection for Destiny 2 players on all consoles will be coming in Season 13.
The Vault of Glass raid returns.
Crossplay is coming in 2021.
Two strikes (Fallen S.A.B.E.R. and Devil’s Lair) are coming to Destiny 2 in Season 13.
Legendary and Master Lost Sector rotation will be expanded to include the Lost Sectors on the Moon in Season 13, and there will be new three new pieces of Exotic armor to chase.
