SEGA’s Toshihiro Nagoshi is hesitant to put Yakuza’s Kazuma Kiryu in fighting games, doesn’t want to see Kiryu beating up women

Yakuza’s Kazuma Kiryu is a highly requested character for fighting games such as Tekken 7. Although there have been a ton of requests for him, SEGA’s Toshihiro Nagoshi is hesitant to put him in fighting games. Nagoshi elaborates this in a recent interview with Red Bull France:

We do get this request a lot. Of course there are exceptions, but fighting games generally have female characters, and personally I don’t really want to see Kiryu beating up women.

Kiryu is quite the gentleman so this does make sense. Fans will still continue to clamor for the Yakuza legend though. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news!
