Xbox Live is referred to as “Xbox Online Service” now, fueling speculation that Xbox Live Gold is going away

There have been rumors about Xbox Live Gold potentially going away soon as Game Pass will be the major subscription service of Xbox going forward. Microsoft has made this even more clear lately with the publication of their services agreement. According to the agreement, Xbox Live is now referred to as “Xbox Online Service.” In addition, Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles will be referred to as “Xbox consoles.”
