CD Projekt Red has become the latest company to skip PAX East 2020, due to the growing fear and risk of the Coronavirus epidemic. This is according to a tweet from Stephanie Bayer, the North American head of communications for the company.
“I just found out my team is cancelling our PAX East trip so I will NOT be at PAX East as previously planned. I should still be at GDC though!” Bayer stated in the tweet.
In a response from a twitter user, Bayer stated that the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 would not be at the event, but that company staff had planned to attend and have a heavy presence.
CD Projekt Red’s decision follows a string of companies, notably Sony, to pull out of the event over fears of coronavirus. Square-Enix announced that it would scale back its presence at the event. However, they will still have games on hand to demo.
