Nintendo stated that the coronavirus would affect production of Switch units and it seems that shortages are now in effect. My Nintendo of Japan has announced that they are currently out of Switch units. Pre-orders for the Animal Crossing: New Horizons set were also delayed. Luckily, Switch Lite units are still available for those wanting to purchase one in Japan.
