Guerrilla Games Job Listing Accidentally Confirms Existence of Horizon Zero Dawn 2

    Published:

Guerilla Games, one of Sony’s first-party developers, recently posted job listings for an upcoming game. In these listings, the studio seemingly confirms what many have been speculating. That a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn is in fact in development.
In one job listing, posted on Guerilla Games’ website, has a position open for “Technical Vegetation Artist.” In the job description, it states specifically what the position entails. But it also name-drops a familiar title.
“Within Guerrilla, we have four teams dedicated to creating the stunning environments of Horizon. One team focuses on the creation of lush and stunning vegetation. We build these 3D models from scratch, so our world dressing teams can deliver our immersive world with industry-benchmark graphics.”
This all but confirms that a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn is in the works. The original title released in February 2017. And it was a critical and commercial success. So it is a no-brainer that Guerilla Games and Sony would want to develop a sequel.
If a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn is in fact announced. It will coincide with the launch of the PlayStation 5. Which currently has a launch window of Holiday 2020. It remains to be seen whether the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn is a launch title, but it would be a pretty safe bet to expect the game to release as PlayStation 5 title.
