If we can give something to Techland‘s open-world parkour zombie game it’s how much the team stuck with it, improved on what’s already there and kept providing content, to the point of building a loyal community over the years. And just when you think the Polish team is finally letting their baby rest in favor of the upcoming sequel, they straight up confirm that they are still actively working on Dying Light 1.
Techland’s Tymon Smektala states:
“If we had an idea we’re unsure about for Dying Light 2, we could mimic that idea to some extent in support of the first game and see how it works. We can see what people find attractive and what’s unattractive to them.”
He later continues on how big of a factor the word to mouth was for Dying Light 1 despite not necessarily receiving stellar reviews:
“We had a meeting right before E3 where we said we still wanted to add things to the first one. And there’s now a small team which is working on additional stuff that will happen in Dying Light.”
Needless to say, this dedication will probably extend to Dying Light 2 for the next few years, it is indeed nice to know that said sequel is going to be a full package containing years of content and experiments by the team and then more.
Dying Light 2 is coming to PS4, Xbox One and Windows for 2020, are you confident in picking it up day one knowing the game is most likely going to receive constant free content for the foreseeable future?
