It looks like MechWarrior 5 has fallen to what is all too common now for upcoming games. They took to a development update today to announce that it would be coming to the Epic Games Store on December 10th (which is a delay from the original September 10th), with additional details regarding the situation.
Within the development update, they talked about refunds and what those who stay pre-ordered can expect. Firstly, they stated that the deal was to make MechWarrior 5 “the best MechWarrior game it can be”. We’ll have to wait till December 10th to see how that holds up. Otherwise, fans can get refunds for their pre-orders until September first. This will let them keep the bonus MechWarrior Online content, but does not allow access to the upcoming game. You also won’t be able to access the closed beta, which premieres for pre-order users in November. If you want more information, you can check out the dev update yourself as well as the FAQ here.
This news should no doubt be disappointing to most if not all of those looking to play the game. Thankfully this doesn’t rule out a Steam release, but at this point we don’t know. What do you think of the situation and how they handled it? Let us know!
