Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced that the upcoming Future GPX Cyber Formula anime short will premiere on February 19. The short, titled Shin Seiki GPX Cyber Formula ASURADA, will screen in theaters alongside the upcoming Future GPX Cyber Formula: Early Days Renewal compilation OVA in Japan.

Earlier this year, Project YNP announced Future GPX Cyber Formula Spiral, a new racing game in the Future GPX Cyber Formula franchise. Currently, the developers have not yet revealed the consoles or the release date for the upcoming game. It will feature a new story supervised by director Mitsuo Fukuda, set in a new era beyond the series’ existing narrative. It will depict “inherited wills, newly formed bonds, and the desires within each character’s heart.”
Spiral‘s story is not only about aiming for victory, but about moving toward the future. It boasts the “passionate, heartrending, and powerful drama” that the series has become known for. Additionally, it will include evolved race presentation, which makes the ultra-high-speed race battles “more impactful and immersive” than ever before. Dynamic character animations will also be present.
