Square Enix has announced that the Dragon Quest series has surpassed 100 million copies sold. To celebrate reaching 100 million copies sold, Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii shared a thank you message and photo to fans ahead of notable game releases for the franchise.
Square Enix previously released Dragon Quest Heroes: Torneko’s Mystery Dungeon -Classic HD-, a remaster of the 1993 Dragon Quest spin-off that was originally never released outside Japan. Dragon Quest Heroes: Torneko’s Mystery Dungeon -Classic HD- is available worldwide for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 24. The Switch 2 version of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition will offer graphics and performance modes. In addition, the Switch 2 version will be a Game-Key Card title, meaning that the physical release requires a download of the full game’s data.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World launches on December 3 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Windows. A free demo is available on all platforms featuring the game’s first chapter, and up to eight monsters recruited in the demo can be transferred to the full game.
