Onimusha: Way of the Sword Surpasses 1 Million Copies Sold on Launch Day

Capcom is also focusing on "re-activating IPs."

Capcom has announced that Onimusha: Way of the Sword surpassed over 1 million copies sold worldwide on launch day. Capcom also confirmed that it will be focusing on “re-activating IPs” that haven’t receive a new title entry recently, with Onimusha: Way of the Sword serving as the most recent example.

“In addition to regularly releasing major new titles each year, Capcom is focusing on re-activating IPs that haven’t had a new title launch recently,” Capcom said in a press release. “The company is working to further maximize corporate value by leveraging its rich library of content, including this title.”

Onimusha: Way of the Sword released on September 4 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The Switch 2 version of Onimusha: Way of the Sword runs at 1080p 30 FPS in docked mode and 900p 30 FPS in handheld mode. There will also be a variable 30 to 40 FPS frame rate mode and access to motion controls. 

Lastly, the Steam page describes the game as follows:

Fight through bloodstained battlefields of intense swordplay action. Explore the historic Japanese capital of Edo-era Kyoto, twisted by malevolent clouds of Malice.
