To celebrate the game’s first anniversary, Bandai Namco has announced that Season 7 of 4v4 team battle game DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA will begin on September 9. In addition, a “Year-End Overhaul” will shift battles in DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA from the current top-down perspective to a third-person, over-the-shoulder perspective. The overhaul promises to bring a more action-focused gameplay system.
DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA Season 7 marks the in-game debut of Super Gogeta alongside Android 19 as a new Helper for the Technical role and San-Shinron as a new boss. The boss lineup will also begin to rotate every two weeks. There will also be reward campaigns that celebrate the game’s first anniversary, with the first half of events beginning on September 9 and a second half following up later on.
The “Open Up to 140 Capsules! Open 5 a Day! Free G-Capsules” campaign resets every day and offers up to 140 G-Capsules. An “Anniversary Celebration G-Capsule” event will also kick off with Season 7 featuring login rewards like the 1st Anniversary Party Hat and Special Passes, The “GEKISHIN Rules Play Campaign” will bring a special SP Cell Jr. into live matches, and the “Lucky Box Battle” event lets teams Lucky Boxes together for a
chance to earn a variety of rewards.
The development team explained that the overhaul aims to further pursue their vision of exciting Dragon Ball battles and unique appeal of team-based gameplay to more players for years to come. The overhaul places a focus on action with redesigned game rules for simpler win conditions. This is all while preserving the game’s unique strategic decision-making and teamwork elements. One major change includes MAX Super Attacks, which can be equipped to replace existing Super Attacks.
Bandai Namco released DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA on September 9, 2025 for iOS via App Store, Android via Google Play Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. As shown with previous seasons, the game will continue to receive free updates, balance patches, free playable characters, and much more. Skins and emotes can be summoned with Capsules, which are earned in-game and can be purchased with real currency.
