Control Resonant, the sequel to 2019’s Control, was first announced at The Game Awards 2025. While the first game was a third-person shooter, similar to Remedy’s other titles, such as Max Payne and Alan Wake, Control Resonant will pivot to a hack-and-slash direction, with heavier emphasis on role-playing elements.
Control Resonant launches digitally on September 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Physical copies will be available on October 15. Players who pre-order will gain access to the Hiss Corruption outfit and the Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact.
Players can also opt to purchase the digital deluxe edition, which includes a digital art book, the game’s soundtrack, and more. Those who purchase the digital deluxe edition on PlayStation 5 can access the game 48 hours early.
Final Weapon conducted an interview with the game’s creative director and lead actor in June.
Here is an overview via the game’s Steam page:

Join Dylan in this sequel to the multi-award-winning CONTROL to explore the expansive zones of a city overrun by the corrupting influences of the chaotic Hiss, invasive micro-organism, the Mold, and other twisted paranatural threats.
On the path to unlocking the full potential of his paranatural abilities Dylan will also seek out his sister, FBC Director Jesse Faden, as he bids to comprehend and contain the dangers that have spilled beyond the confines of the Oldest House to tear our world apart.
