Remedy Entertainment revealed a new trailer for Control Resonant titled ‘Altered State’ at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. It features the song ‘Omen’ by The Prodigy and showcases enthusiastic quotes from various publications.
The trailer presents a mix of cinematics and gameplay footage, showing what players can expect from moment-to-moment gameplay. Rock Paper Shotgun calls it “a deliciously free-flowing character action RPG” in one of the featured quotes.
Control Resonant Gamescom 2026 Trailer
Control Resonant, the sequel to 2019’s Control, was first announced at The Game Awards 2025. While the first game was a third-person shooter, similar to Remedy’s other titles, such as Max Payne and Alan Wake, Control Resonant will pivot to a hack-and-slash direction, with heavier emphasis on role-playing elements.
Control Resonant launches on September 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players who pre-order will gain access to the Hiss Corruption outfit and the Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact.
