The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen will support linking with Pokémon HOME in October 2026. The date has been confirmed 4 months after The Pokémon Company announced that the re-releases would support the HOME app.
Once linked, players will be able to transfer captured Pokémon to Pokémon HOME and bring them to other games in the Pokémon series. They will then be able to link it to Pokémon Champions or “deposit” your Pokémon to Scarlet/Violet or Legends Z-A. That said, when a Pokémon from Pokémon FireRed or Pokémon LeafGreen is brought to another game in the Pokémon series, they will be unable to return to either game. Further, Pokémon from other games in the Pokémon series will be unable to visit Pokémon FireRed or Pokémon LeafGreen. Those who complete the PokéDex in either game will unlock the Mythical Pokémon Celebi in the mobile Pokémon HOME app.
UPDATE:
The Pokémon Company has also confirmed that Pokémon Bank, a Nintendo 3DS application that lets players deposit or withdraw Pokémon they have captured in Pokémon titles on the 3DS, will end service on Thursday, February 25, 2027, at 7:00 PM PDT. Afterwards, transferring Pokémon from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon HOME will also no longer be possible. Players will have until February 2027 to transfer their Pokémon before the end of Bank’s service.
