Fathom Entertainment has announced that tickets for the next film in the ongoing Studio Ghibli Fest 2026, Castle in the Sky, are now live. It will be in theaters starting on August 22 and will exit on August 27.
The show dates are as follows:
- Saturday, August 22 at 3:00 PM (English Language Dub)
- Sunday, August 23 at 3:00 PM & 7:00 PM (English Language Dub)
- Monday, August 24 at 7:00 PM (Japanese Language with Subtitles)
- Tuesday, August 25 at 7:00 PM (Japanese Language with Subtitles)
- Wednesday, August 26 at 7:00 PM (English Language Dub)
The dubbed version will feature the voices of Anna Paquin, James Van Der Beek, Cloris Leachman, Mark Hamill, and Mandy Patinkin in their early roles. Screenings will also include a post-film clip from the bonus featurette, “The World of Laputa.” The remaining films part of Studio Ghibli Fest 2026 are Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. Each month will highlight a new film, as Princess Mononoke will air from September 26-30, while Spirited Away will be available in theaters from October 17-21.

Last year, GKIDS and IMAX announced that it will be partnering to release 4K restorations films by Studio Ghibli in IMAX in 2026. The films will release in North America after the success of both The Boy and the Heron and Princess Mononoke in IMAX. Further, Studio Ghibli’s Atsushi Okui will oversee the new versions of the films. Recently, he was the Director of Digital Imaging on The Boy and the Heron, the first film from Ghibli to launch in IMAX. Lastly, tickets for both Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away will go live at a later date.
