Fabraz has announced that a new free update for Bubsy 4D, titled Black Hole, is available now on all platforms. This includes Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
The update’s patch notes are as follows:
NEW CONTENT: BLACK HOLE CAMPAIGN
-
- 15 brand new levels! Revisit each planet to tackle these tough challenges.
- A bunch of new hazards, enemies and more!
- 5 entirely new outfits to unlock by collecting void fleece!
- 15 spanking new time medals to unlock and leaderboards to compete in.
- 4 new achievements/trophies to hunt down.
- New dialogue with the gang!
- A new special reward for completing the game 100%!
PLAYER
-
- Adjusting the camera to handle collision slightly better. Lackey Two keeps on improving!
- The grounding visualizer is no longer shy and won’t randomly disappear when hairball bouncing.
- Fixed rare instance where Bubsy remains squashed or stretched. Slenderbubsy is no longer real, sorry.
- Lowered the chance of clipping through the ground when entering hairball form. Even bobcats need to obey the laws of physics!
LEVELS
-
- Shooting from glass tube cannons is now more consistent across different hardware.
BOSSES
-
- Dying to Baarbee JUST as you beat her no longer softlocks the game. But you should still feel bad about it.
UI
-
- Fixed abilities not remembering if they were turned on or off if you quickly switch categories in the shop. Sometimes I don’t know whether I’m turned on or off either.
- Race timer no longer shows up after beating the game before the title screen comes in. THE RACE IS OVER.
SYSTEMS
-
- Retrying via keybind no longer takes longer than retrying via the pause menu. No more extra time to ponder your life choices, like you became a professional Bubsy speedrunner.
