Nintendo and Mojang have announced that Minecraft is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27. A digital upgrade path for Nintendo Switch owners of Minecraft will also be available on Nintendo Switch 2, with more details to follow at a later date.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Minecraft includes Vibrant Visuals, the game’s graphics package of enhanced lighting system, shadow effects, and more. Vibrant Visuals is also supported in enabled content in the Minecraft Marketplace. What’s more, players will be able to transfer saves from the original Switch version.
Mojang also confirmed that the Nintendo-exclusive Super Mario Mash-Up pack is also getting an update to get the most out of the Vibrant Visuals graphics. The Super Mario Mash-Up includes custom Mario-themed world, music, unique skins, and locations such as Peach’s castle and Delfino Plaza.
In the meantime, Minecraft Dungeons II will release on September 29 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Windows. The recent trailer shows off the gameplay for the upcoming new entry, which is available now to pre-order for $29.99. Those who order it early can get two hero skins, a twisted cape, and a twisted chicken pet. The deluxe edition costs $49.99 and includes the Soul cape, Blub pet, 4 hero skins, and DLC 1 & 2 upon release.
