Insomniac Games has released a new update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which adds two new costumes based on Spider-Man: Brand New Day and MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Additionally, the update adds support for Enhanced PSSR on PlayStation 5 Pro and Power Saver mode.
The Brand New Day suit, titled “Fresh Start,” will be present in the upcoming film from Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment, premiering in theaters on July 31. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, has the following synopsis: “It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.”
Additionally, the MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls suit will be highlighted when the full game releases for PlayStation 5 and PC on August 6. The launch roster includes Peni Parker, Storm, Magik, Danger, Wolverine, Captain America (Steve Rogers), Doctor Doom, Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes), Iron Man, Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan), Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Black Panther (Shuri), Hulk, Star-Lord, Green Goblin, Carnage, Blade, Loki, and Deadpool. 20 characters will be available at launch.
